Slán a Bheas Mé
Gearóid Ó Cairealláin, one of the most influential Irish language activists of the past 20 years, took a massive stroke which almost claimed his life on 31st July 2006. The founder of Lá, An Chultúrlann, Aisling Ghéar and former President of Conradh na Gaeilge collapsed in his office in the Cultúrlann and was pronounced clinically dead within 24 hours. Almost a year later, he has made a remarkable recovery. Now confined to a wheelchair he is determined to stand on his own two feet when he marries his sweetheart Bríd exactly one year from the day he almost died.
This half hour documentary was broadcast on TG4 in January 2008 and was the 7th most viewed programme on TG4 that week.
